WHEN IT ALL BEGAN

1998

Out of a love for Hunting, Fishing and just being Outdoors - Founder Steve McBee bought the first tract of land, a 300 acre piece, all the way back in 1998 for $500/acre. Picture is the old farmhouse the boys would stay at every weekend on the original tract.

THE START OF THE FARM

2005

After having some issues with the local Farmer letting friends all over the land, Steve decided to take on farming himself - having no idea what to do or how to do it. Little did he know what this would become someday.

INTRODUCING CATTLE TO THE FARM

2009

After farming for a few seasons, Steve wanted to try his hand at cattle ranching - knowing how important growing our own food and being self-sustained is in an increasingly crazy world.

SELLING MEAT SNACKS AND THE RISE OF APEX

2018

After Steven joined the farm full time, he decided to go all in on becoming fully vertically integrated - growing the idea out in phases and beginning with Apex Protein Snacks, which sell high-protein shelf stable meat snacks like beef jerky, snack sticks and summer sausage.

THE MEAT FACILITY ... AND OUR TV SHOW

2023

Finally - the full year our vision had come to fruition. Growing herds raised on pastures and feed we had grown, and sending them through our own meat facility to be turned into some of the highest-quality, best tasting meat products available anywhere. This year also threw us an interesting curveball - filming a reality TV show about our family farm!
